Estimates are not quotes

The ranges on this site and in reports are planning figures built from public data. They are not offers, bids or guarantees, and your actual price will differ. Get written quotes before you commit to any work.

No professional advice

We are not contractors, engineers, architects or lawyers. Check permit rules, licensing and code requirements with your local building office.

Accounts

You can sign in with Google or an email link. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time from account settings.

Paid products

• Detailed Estimate Report: $9 one-time. A multi-page PDF for one saved estimate, available to download from your dashboard after payment.
• CostLocal Pro: $19 per month or $149 per year. Includes unlimited reports, unlimited saved projects, price alerts and priority quote matching. It renews automatically at the same price until you cancel. We will tell you before changing the price.

All prices are in US dollars. Tax, where it applies, is added at checkout.

Payments: Polar is the merchant of record

Payments are processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), which acts as the merchant of record for all our orders. Polar sells the product to you, takes your payment, issues your receipt and invoice, collects and remits sales tax or VAT where it applies, and handles refunds. By buying, you also agree to Polar's terms. We never see your card number.

Cancellation and refunds

Cancel a subscription any time from Plan & billing; you keep access until the end of the paid period. We offer 30-day refunds on every purchase; see the refund policy.

Contractors

We pass your request to contractors but do not employ, vouch for or supervise them. Check licenses, insurance and references yourself. Any contract is between you and the contractor.

Use of the site

You may use the pages, estimator and your purchased reports for personal use or for your own projects. Do not resell or republish reports, and do not scrape the site at a rate that harms it. The underlying federal data is public domain; the way we combine it is our work.

Liability

The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make from an estimate, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
